FAQ
Questions, meet answers.
Coming soon to iOS and Android. Here is what we know, what we are planning, and what we are not claiming yet.
01What is Latch?+
Latch is a screen-time app that lets you earn temporary access to distracting apps by completing short learning reps.
02Is Latch available yet?+
Not yet. Coming soon to iOS and Android.
03How can I hear about the release?+
Follow Latch Labs on YouTube, Instagram, or LinkedIn. This website does not collect release registrations or email signups.
04What platforms will it support?+
Coming soon to iOS and Android. Exact device and operating-system requirements will be confirmed closer to release.
05How is it different from Opal, Brick, one sec, or ScreenZen?+
Those tools introduce different kinds of blocking or friction. Latch’s distinctive mechanic is a learning-based unlock: short questions from subjects you care about become the way through.
06Can I choose what I study?+
Yes. Planned tracks include pandas, Python, economics, Japanese, finance, history, and custom revision material.
07Can I choose easy questions?+
Users choose subjects and goals, but not difficulty directly. Latch infers difficulty from performance so users cannot reward-hack the unlock flow by always choosing easy questions.
08Will it work offline?+
The core experience is designed to. Blocking, question selection, grading, adaptation, and temporary unlocks are intended to work on-device.
09What will be paid?+
The free tier is planned as a useful blocker. Pro will focus on customisation and learning value, including planned custom AI courses, expanded packs, advanced personalisation, sync, and backup.
010What terms will apply to the app?+
On iOS, the Apple Standard EULA and applicable App Store terms will govern the app licence and store transactions. On Android, the Google Play Terms will govern the store licence and transactions. Latch terms will govern the app service on both platforms.
