Terms

The terms for using the Latch website and, once released, the Latch mobile app.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Who we are

LATCH LABS LTD is a private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006 on 25 June 2026, and trading as Latch Labs. We develop and operate Latch.

LATCH LABS LTD is responsible for the website and, from release, the Latch app and service. Privacy enquiries: privacy@latchlabs.app. Legal enquiries: legal@latchlabs.app.

https://joinlatch.app redirects to https://latchlabs.app; it is not a separate service or operator.

Latch is coming soon to iOS and Android. Website provisions apply now. App provisions apply from the first time you download, access, or use the publicly released app.

Agreement and scope

These terms apply to this website now and to the Latch mobile app and associated services from release. By using the relevant service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Nothing in these terms limits consumer or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If you are not legally able to agree to these terms in your country, a parent or guardian must review and accept them for you where the law allows. Store-account and age requirements also apply.

Before release

Latch is in development and coming soon to iOS and Android. Screens, interactive demos, course examples, planned pricing, release plans, and feature statements on this website are illustrative and may change. We do not guarantee a release date, particular feature, device compatibility, or store availability. The public demo does not create an app account, subscription, or entitlement.

App-store terms and licence

Apps are licensed, not sold. The terms of the store through which you obtain Latch also apply to the download, licence, installation, updates, purchases, and subscriptions handled by that store.

  • Apple App Store: we intend to use Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement rather than a custom Apple EULA. Apple's applicable Media Services Terms and Conditions also apply. Latch Labs, not Apple, is the provider of Latch and is responsible for the app, its content, support, and any claims to the extent required by the Standard EULA and applicable law.
  • Google Play: the applicable Google Play Terms of Service govern your use of Google Play and the acquisition, store licence, billing, and subscription management for Latch through Google Play. These Latch terms are the additional provider terms governing the Latch app and service.

If these terms conflict with mandatory store terms about the app licence or a store-managed transaction, the mandatory store terms control for that issue. These terms continue to govern your relationship with Latch Labs and your use of Latch's features and services.

Using Latch

Subject to the applicable store licence, we permit you to use Latch for personal, lawful, non-commercial purposes on supported devices you own or control. You are responsible for configuring your chosen apps, schedules, permissions, learning content, and unlock duration.

Blocking depends on operating-system capabilities, permissions, device settings, updates, and third-party apps. It may be delayed, bypassed, or unavailable. Do not rely on Latch where delayed access to another app could create a safety, health, legal, financial, or emergency risk. Latch is a focus and learning tool, not a security control, parental-control guarantee, or treatment for any health condition.

Accounts and security

If Latch introduces accounts, you must provide accurate information, keep sign-in methods secure, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

You may stop using Latch at any time. If accounts are available, you may request deletion in the app or through our account deletion page. Deleting an account does not itself cancel a store-managed subscription; you must cancel that separately through Apple or Google.

Free features, purchases, and subscriptions

Available features, prices, billing periods, trials, renewal terms, and eligibility will be shown before purchase in the relevant store. Store-managed subscriptions renew until cancelled in your Apple or Google account. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless the store or applicable law provides otherwise.

Apple or Google processes store payments and applies its purchase, cancellation, withdrawal, and refund rules. Contact the relevant store for store-billing or refund requests, and contact us for problems with Latch functionality or entitlements. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Learning content and custom material

Latch's questions, explanations, generated material, progress indicators, and difficulty estimates are learning aids. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong and do not provide a qualification or guarantee a learning outcome. They are not medical, mental-health, financial, legal, or other professional advice.

If you submit material or instructions for a custom course, you keep your rights in that material and give us only the permission needed to process it and provide the feature. You must have the right to use and submit it and must not upload confidential, unlawful, infringing, or harmful material.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • interfere with the website or app, attempt unauthorised access, bypass security, or misuse device permissions;
  • submit malicious code, automated spam, deceptive information, or unlawful material;
  • copy, scrape, redistribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Latch except where the applicable store licence or law expressly permits it;
  • use Latch to violate another person's rights, monitor another person without lawful authority, or break any applicable law;
  • resell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit Latch or its content without written permission.

Intellectual property

The website, app, visual design, text, software, course content, Latch name, and associated materials are owned by or licensed to Latch Labs. The applicable store licence and these terms give you limited permission to use them; they do not transfer ownership. Third-party names belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Updates, availability, and termination

We may provide updates, change features, correct content, suspend a feature, or stop supporting an operating-system version where reasonably necessary. Some updates may be required for security or continued use. We may restrict or end access if you materially or repeatedly breach these terms, misuse the service, create risk for others, or if we are legally required to do so. Where appropriate, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

External services

Latch may link to or depend on operating-system features, app stores, and other third-party services. Their own terms and privacy notices apply. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, although this does not limit responsibility that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, for business losses arising from personal use, or for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Privacy

Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal information for the website and app. Our Cookie notice explains browser storage used by the website.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms to reflect the released service, law, store requirements, security, or material feature changes. The version on this page applies from its stated update date; where required, we will provide notice before a material change takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections of your home country and may bring proceedings in your home courts where applicable.
